May 17, 2005: I got a new job.
April 24, 2005: I was driving down 8th Street last night singing along to some tunes in my car. During one particular climax of one particular song, I was singing for so long and so hard that I started to feel woozy. Quite woozy. I kept it going for a little longer (to finish the note, of course).
I realized I had perhaps gone a little too far. Everything was very fuzzy - well, between the short bouts of blackess, that is. My head bobbed from side to side. I felt drunk. Actually, worse than drunk - kinda like I was dreaming that I was drunk.
Then, my arm started getting numb, and not the nice "oooh, my arm fell asleep and is a little tingly" numb. It felt dead to the world - as if my arm had been amputated years ago due to an awry case of gangrene and was replaced with a rubber prosthetic.
Then I realized I was still operating a motor vehicle. Gratefully, there wasn't an incident (besides me realizing I was traveling 25 km/hr in a 60). I wish I was another driver in another car looking at me seeing my head swaying like a beachball in a wave pool. That would have been funny.
In other news, I put two new tracks on the Moose Pipe Elk recording. I got the idea for a great atmospheric sound effect while I was on the can this morning and did two tracks of it in one take each. This recording is the first of local supergroup, Moose Pipe Elk, of which I am the drummer. Keep your eyes open for the upcoming EP.
Lastly, I've got two more finals left, tomorrow and Wednesday and that'll be it for another school year. They're starting to become old hat for me.
Take two aspirin, get a good sleep and listen to Don Caballero. I'll see you next time.
