Hey Boys I hope the rest of your tour went well. I seemed to have Someone's Dij. (or however ya spell that one.) Any how after going on a wild ride with yall and the Cats with stories of great loves gained and lost with many empty bottles along the road side I have arived to this moment with a smile upon my face, ending with the words of Greg Keelor painted on the sidewalk out the window in front of me here at darwins." in the land of the crow , there is no path.Do Not be Distracted. Let the silence be your guide. Let the fire cleanse you, let the water teach you.... It is all just a beautiful dream, in the cave of your heart.Love LIfe ElGordo

I can't be bothered with anything these days, but such is life. I don't care. So it goes. More or less nothing seems worth thinking about. I've just been hanging out waiting for something to happen, but that's how it is.

Scotty Zee:
Man, your life sounds pretty boring. You should get yourself an Old Joe and the Truth Hurts cd. It will get your mind workin' and put a smile on your face. Then you can run around Mongolia and tell all your friends about us, that'll give you something to do for awhile.

I hope that you guys will be playing between the 20th and the 24th of december somewhere as I will be in Town for christmas. I really want to take in a show, so giver eh?

Things in the Kooteny bubble are alittle left of center which is what I love about it here , can't wait until you come out here to play someday. Perhaps a festival express with the cracker cats or something. Now that would be alot of fun.

Hello,
Just a note to let y'all know that "The Book of Old Joe" is now available in select stores in the Spanish cities of Leon, Valladolid, Avila, and Madrid. Get there quick, quantities are very limited, and the price is right (the quantity being 1 per store, and the price being nothing). A similiar "promotion" is planned for stores in Rome next month. It's like christmas for some lucky open-minded European music fans who enjoy bands that begin with the letter "O"...

Your site looks awesome, and I was really surprised to read the comment from robb in fredericton, because I thought me and kyle were the only people in town lucky enought know old joe. The Fight is possibly the best song I've heard in years, and I hope it doesn't weird you out if I play it at an open mike this tuesday and pretend that I wrote it. Just kidding,

Hey Joey,
Yes the show in Nelson was sooooooo sweet. I had such a good time as per usual when the Cracker Cats play. For anyone who wasn't out here seeing these cats play, I truely feel for ya cause you missed out on some great shows. I can't wait for Old Joe and The Truth hurts to come. I'm not so sure I will be getting "the church" job, but I will be here and would gladly do anything I can to help promote you guys or whatever, let me know. Till next time, keep on that Bad-ass Bluegrass trail.

Hey everyone, this is Joey on the road from Nelson BC touring with the Cracker Cats. The tour is waay rad so far. We've played three shows to really good audiences, jammed on the beach, dove from rocks, slept in, on and near the van, and generally everything is going great. Come check us out if we come to your town and come talk to us, we're nice people. Check the links page for a link the Cracker Cats website with the tour info. More to come later, hopefully a more interesting story!

old joe:
Here I am again everybody, this time from Smithers BC. We are just getting ready to leave for Prince RUpert where tomorrow we will get on the Ferry for Haidi Gwaii. A few days ago we played and stayed at the Little Slocan Lodge, which is a very excellent straw bale and timber frame lodge. Anyone in the Kootenays looking for a place to stay owes it to themselves to check this place out. Also I have seen about one hundred million log house building companies so I might need to come out here a get a job for a bit. Very excited for Haida Gwaii, peace to all.

¿Hey guys, hows it goin??
(ok, I've changed the message so people can actually read it)

We're having a good time enjoying the weather, meeting a tonne of great Spanish people and trying to spread the good word of "The Book of Old Joe" (I've got 10 copies to spread across the country). See ya in a couple months.

Dev:
Great to hear from you, Scott. I'm glad to hear that Spain is treating Tammy and you well.

There hasn't been a tonne going on here besides the usual. We got shirts, I suppose. That's kinda cool.

Spread the word of Old Joe, my friend...

P.S. I miss the old message

Hey Joe and Scott. Adam gave me your cd last week in Vegas and it's great! I was glad to hear that all the instruments collecting in the house were put to use.

Was very surprised when I popped the cd into ITunes it's database pulled up all the song details.

Have fun and maybe see you guys around xmas time. Plan is to come up to Canada this year.

As for the radio, we haven't sent any copies around, except to two radio stations in Saskatoon. What are some of the radio stations that you listen to there? We'll make sure to send a copy their way.

at some point, we need to get the doom arena gang together and have a reunion!

excellent work!

Dev:
Whoah-ho-ho!

A Doom 2 reunion, huh? :)

I hope you've spent these last five years with scholastic discipline in preparation for said match! I haven't so much as played a single minute of the aforementioned game in the last half decade, but I'm confident my reign would still uphold. After all, you didn't earn the name 'Deadmeat' fecklessley.

In official response to your challenge, I say bring it. :)

We LOVE the CD and listen to it all the time. The music just gets inside you and you feel a part of the experience. Thank for allowing us to share in this a little bit with you. We are bringing your music out with us and will continue to "brag" to our friends. Keep up the amazing work and we look forward to your tour in Calgary.

Your CD release party was unbelievable, jaw-droppin', toe tappin' and in a couple of songs, two-steppin’ great!!!! Thanks for the couple of songs that brought back some memorable experiences of you and your cousins at Candle Lake and other country hills and valleys that your mother & I shared together. I really enjoyed the evening and your Grandma just as much. Your Grandfathers would have been so, so proud that the buttons on their shirts would be poppin'. Devin, I am so proud of your accomplishments and hope you will continue making awesome music.

AYE CABRON, buen pagina dudes, are your web-skills for hire?

When will Craker Cats and TruthHurts play together?

Joey Shmoey:
For the time being, the Cracker Cats are on hiatus because one of the members (Kamila) is gone away for a few months. However, you can catch the other two (Melissa and Eliza) opening up for us at our CD release show January 7th at Louis'. If you need a fix of Kamila with the Truth Hurts, you can always get one of our CDs and listen to her singing on a couple tracks. That'll have to tide you over for now...

I'll be at the release party for sure, and I'll try to round up some Bosconians too. Good Luck guys!

i assume there will be autographs and swag after the show in january

Dev:
We haven't talked about a shopping cart. That might be getting a little beyond our web-designing capabilities. For now, just getting in contact with us should be able to land you a copy.

As for merch at the show, we'll have the CD, of course, but not much more. Perhaps a limited T-shirt. That remains to be seen.

CFCR currently has a copy, so everyone should phone in and request a song. 'What about Henry?' has a naughty word or two, so they'd only be able to play it at night. As for a single, I dunno. We haven't talked about trying to push one song more than others. They all rock harder than most of what you'd hear on the radio anyway, so it matters little :) Seriously, we'd just like to get the disc out and maybe just hear from people what song they think is best...

Thanks, Jaryn. See you at hockey.

I just listened to your samples and I cant wait to hear the rest of the album! One crit so far tho, you guys need more cowbell...

Dev:
Yeah, the ol' cowbell only made it onto one song, but in that one song, there are actually TWO DIFFERENT COWBELLS!!! Can't beat that, huh?

Unless, I suppose, one were to add a third....

Dev, I think this will work now.

Scott again:
Yes it will.

Lord of all things cool:
No, it's still not working, clearly.
